With the Gup Gups launch only a few days away (this Saturday!!! – see the events section for details), we’re coming at you fast and furious with the Artists’ Features!!! Today’s post focuses on two longtime veterans of the videogame industry who we are proud to call our friends. Hafid and Paul are both amazing artists, and more importantly, amazing people!!!

Hafid Roserie

Originally from the beautiful island of St. Lucia, Hafid now works and resides in Vancouver, B.C. As a Senior Environment Artist at Electronic Arts Hafid (or Rose to his friends) plays a large role in crafting the beautiful worlds you’ve seen in such franchises as NBA Street and Need for Speed. Though this is Rose’s first collaboration with designer toys, Rose is no stranger to the Vancouver art show scene having participated in group shows at Headquarter and Lark.

Paul Tanner

Paul may best be known for his work as a character artist or character lead for Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Next Level Games and Disney’s Propoganda Studios, but that list, as impressive as it is, only hints at the breadth of Paul’s background. Originally from Victoria, British Columbia, Paul started his creative journey as an apprentice jeweler. Fast forward a decade later and Paul has moved from finessing precious metals, to become an accomplished sculptor working in both clay and stone, and casting in bronze and cement. From the minute and meticulous, to the industrial and massive, believe Gup Gups when we say that Paul has done a lot of heavy lifting.
